
The BC Media Centre
The location of the unaccredited British Columbia International Media Centre (BCMC) presents opportunities for a variety of cityscape backdrops for both live and taped stand-upand hosting positions.
Many of these locations will be covered and ready for media to use during the 2010 Winter Games. Locations will all have access to electricity and Internet connections. Many locations will be wired with fiber-optic cable back to the main BCMC feed room for distribution to tape or to home studio location. All locations will be fully lit and equipped for an SD Digital signal with embedded audio.
Stand-Up Locations
- Numerous key locations with stunning Vancouver vistas will be created.
- Most locations will be within a 3-5 minute walk from the BCMC, using building rooftops and similar infrastructure. Approx 100 square feet per location
- Locations will be suitable for taped stand-ups, double-enders, live hits, etc
- Locations will be functional 24 hours a day and can be reserved in 30 minute increments
- A comprehensive technical and amenities package will be included at each location, allowing broadcasters to set-up in a minimal time frame
- Locations are essentially āself serveā once reserved, but a 24-hour technical concierge service will be available to aid broadcasters with any technical issues
- Technical and amenities packages in each location will include:
- Tent with adjustable/removable walls
- Work table
- Chairs
- Space heater
- Broadcast lights
- Grip package with apple boxes & sandbags
- Broadcast audio/video line to BCMC control (routable to TOC)
- Dial-up phone lines
- Broadband Internet connection
- Domestic off-air cable TV or satellite TV signal
- Power supply
